Eternal Hills Counseling Center

Our Counselors

Beth Barnes

Discovering my own answers inspired me to become a mental health counselor over ten years ago. I have two masters degrees, mental health counseling and theology. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado, I have been working with individuals, couples, children, and families since 2007. Prior to counseling, I was a business owner and developed information technology solutions for companies across the United States.

Traumatic experiences over the course of our lives or even a single event can leave behind persistent sadness, anxiety, and loss of who we are and how to be happy. Relating to others becomes confusing and dissatisfying, and often results in abusing alcohol, drugs, food, and other processes. Minimizing our difficulties saps our energy and the well-being vital to living authentic, joy-filled lives. To serve these needs, I have advanced training in working with traumatized individuals and offer several somatic-based trauma resolution methods for children and adults. I am experienced in working with people in recovery, supporting their 12-step program while treating issues that accompany addiction. Also, I am trained in biofeedback (HeartMath), dialectical behavior therapy, play and sand tray therapy, mindfulness, and hypnosis.

My office hours are Monday through Wednesday in Lakewood (Denver) and Thursdays and Fridays in either Tabernash (Church of Eternal Hills) or Winter Park (Cooper Creek). You may contact me by phone or email: 303-887-3048 or beth.barnes.60@gmail.com.

Danielle Newell

As a biblically trained counselor, I personally view counseling as a theological matter. Therefore, besides utilizing cognitive behavioral therapy, contemporary and more traditional psychotherapies, I believe all counseling deals with questions of redemption, faith, identity and meaning. The cure of souls begins with an interpretation of problems, a proposal for solutions and a goal that defines thriving humanness. It is my great pleasure and privilege to walk with others as they live out their stories and journey toward wholeness, healing and change.

It is my honor to have earned a M.A. Degree in Counseling from Westminster Theological Seminary, simultaneously while interning at Christian Counseling Education Foundation (CCEF). I am a registered psychotherapist with the Department of Regulatory Administration and hold an LLC with the state of Colorado.

My office hours at Church of Eternal Hills are Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays, including Saturdays upon request.

I can be contacted by email, danisnewell@comcast.net or phone 970-531-2783.
